Wild, Mild, & Dialed II

“Dive into the untamed world of my latest collection—a bold evolution of the original Wild, Mild, & Dialed. This time, we venture deeper into the realm of extraordinary beings, with a sharper focus on the wild and wondrous side of the unreal creaturedom. It’s where the strange meets the spectacular.”

One Keen Team Seen in Olivine and
Lazurine

10×14″, mixed media on paper, by Cedar Fox, 2021 (available)

“Starting with a play with lines, creatures emerged, and all seemed to work together in their world. I imagine hopeful scenes like this often”

Dreams of Jumping

mixed media on paper by Cedar Fox, 6×6″round, 2022 (sold)

“Another Tondi (round) painting that was inspired by a fish in a bowl, wondering what it would be like to live somewhere else and if he could make it. It might be why he seems a little introspective”

After the Storm

mixed media by Cedar Fox with metallic inks on paper, 6×6 round, 2021 (sold)

If you have ever seen creatures confused by the tumbling and turning and rise and retreat of flood waters, then you’ll understand what I was inspired to capture. A small spill to a microscopic world may be similar. In wonder of all life- in all forms and sizes”

surreptitiously dreamt

mixed media on paper, by Cedar Fox, 5×7″, 2021 (available)

“This fluid like world is full of colorful characters. One central being wants to dream of bigger things but not sure if she should. All around her, other are watching to see what she decides to do”

Betta Corridor

mixed media by Cedar Fox on paper 7×10, 2022 (available)

“It’s a traffic jam in the narrow passage that everyone must use. They are ready to go somewhere soon but will have to slowly scoot by. Inspired by the many fish tanks I had and the many more I would like to have”

Rabbit: Deconstructed

mixed media by Cedar Fox on ATC (artist trading cards), 2.5×3.5, 2021 (available)

“A colorful but gruesome landscape of decomposition. Even death and decay are seen as having beauty, as one body becomes something new”

The Messenger

mixed media by Cedar Fox, 6×8″ 2022

“Amongst the busy chaos, the brilliant blue creatures are too busy to notice the message waiting for them”

Herpetological Reasoning

mixed media on canvas, 24×48″, by Cedar Fox, 2010

As one of the very first large canvas pieces I have painted, it is still one of my most favorite. It reflects my desire to lean into my discomfort and continue to evolve and grow as a person and an artist. The snakes are like explorers, finding the smallest of opportunities and the bat is about seeing things with new perspectives. Spheres like gemstones or embryos, full of worth and potential

Deep Blue Drama

mixed media on paper by Cedar Fox, 5×7, 2021

“Another foreign world just beneath the surface in the sea. Being used to smaller waterways like the Great Lakes, the ocean holds all this fear of the unknown as a Midwesterner visiting such vastness. And to think we still do not fully know what is going on in there”
